Statement of Alexander Tikhonov (in English)

Dear Members of the IBU Executive Board,

Dear Presidents of the International Biathlon Federations,

I would like you to look at the list of athletes and countries, accused of the use of prohibited substances. Please contemplate the response and reaction to these facts.

You make a complaint to us. I write this letter in my own name, without any reference to anyone, as I am deeply concerned about the image of my sport and my country. Please compare these facts and keep in mind that Russia has never summed up or generalized multiple doping cases within one country. Especially I would like this list to be carefully studied by basketball player Jiri Hamza, who loudly demands "collective punishment" of the Russian biathlon. Before making any statements, it is vitally important to examine the problem from all possible sides and then to consider whether only Russia has problems with doping.
